i heard the sentimental version first. i was immediately struck by the intimacy of the opening guitar section. to my ear, it has that amazing musical quality of sounding both happy and sad- even nostalgic, maybe.
the standard version is incredible, too. i love the way seth sings the 4th verse! so nonchalant and cool.
how lucky we are to have two awesome versions of this great song! which one do you prefer? do the different musical styles change the meaning or feeling of the song for you?
enjoy,

I like both versions. The first one is cool because they get kind crazy and growly (sp?), but the sentimental version seems more like a love song....maybe because of the female singer??? By the way, who is she?
The sentimental version makes me think of a bunch of friends or family sitting around in the living room just playing and singing...kinda like our family does sometimes :) both versions are cool, though. I like how raw their voices sound....not too "professionalized"
