Every time I hear this speech, I am moved to tears. I am saddened by the fact that so many years later, we still are not there. Martin Luther King, Jr. was an amazing figure, an awesome speaker, and a preacher that stirs the soul. I have so many favorite parts of his speech: "...refuse to believe the bank of justice is bankrupt." "...the fierce urgency of now," "...must not satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred," "..we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope," "...not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." Listening to his speech always makes me want to get up and DO something.
