austin powers is one of my favorite trilogies of all time. in addition to having awesome comedy, beautiful women, and awesome scenery, it's full of great music. today's song comes from the second installment of the trilogy. austin is falling in looooove in this scene, and, can you blame him?
i love oldies music. things were simpler! you could have a lyric like
"what do you get when you kiss a girl/you get enough germs to catch pneumonia/after you do, she'll never phone you"
and it was totally OK! it seems like everything had a rounded edge. in today's music, if a girl gave you pneumonia, 50 cent and his crew would pop a cap in her ass. sigh.
(i often wonder if my generation is actually going to consider songs by artists like eminem and ludacris "oldies" someday.,,)
